Arsenal Colombian shot stopper David Ospina has hinted that he might be leaving the Emirates during the January transfer window by liking number of tweets linking him with a move to Turkish side Besiktas.
The 27 year old has always been NO.2 at the Emirates to former first choice Wojciech Szczesny before being installed as number one due to the latter’s injury and Ospina’s impressive showing. But with the Gunners finally signing Petr Cech from London rivals Chelsea; Ospina automatically became the NO.2 once again while Szczesny became the 3rd choice and eventually headed out on loan to Italian side AS Roma.
Ospina is a wonderful goalkeeper with good sense of positioning and great saving records; but his ‘’school boy’’ error gifted Greek side Olympiakos all 3 points at the Emirates in the Champions league, thereby putting Arsenal in danger early on in the campaign.
It is yet to be seen if Arsenal would allow the Colombian to head out on loan as he is the only experienced back up for Petr Cech in case of injuries or suspension to the Czech shot stopper. A loan deal would surely help Ospina to get more playing time and sharpness to challenge for the NO1 spot at the Emirates; similarly to what Szczesny is currently doing at Roma.
