Arsenal are on the verge of wrapping up the deal for Nigeria Under 17 international Kelechi Nwakali, according to the Metro.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the youngster for the majority of the winter transfer window and unless a dramatic turn of events, the Gunners have gotten their man as the transfer window comes to an end.
The midfielder who dazzled the world in the FIFA U17 championships held last year as confirmed he is on his way to London in order to finalise the deal.
Speaking to Nigeria media house, the Tribune, before jetting out of his country with his agent, the midfielder confirmed the deal is all but done.
‘I am going to Arsenal to work and try to be the best I can,’ he said.
‘With God anything is possible, to work hard to justify my claim for first team football.’
The youngster’s elder brother confirmed few days back that it was only visa issues that was keeping the player in Africa and all that seems to have been resolved an the Gunners could announce the deal in few days.
Nwakali was crowned the most valuable player of the 2015 U17 world cup.
His U17 teammate Samuel Chukwuese is also expected to complete his own move to the Emirates before Monday’s deadline day.
