Arsenal have fended off competition from a host of Premier League big shots to secure their first signing of the summer.
Arsenal have reportedly won the race to sign one of the game’s brightest young talents Charlie Patino.
This report is according to the Daily Mail, who claims the Gunners have beaten Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham to sign 11-year-old Patino for just £10,000.
Arsenal’s interest in the youngster was first reported a few weeks ago but fresh reports now have it that the Gunners have made the Luton Town wonderkid their first signing of the summer.
Chelsea had reportedly offered Luton double for Patino, while Manchester City made a last ditch attempt to snap up the young talent. But after discussions with his family, the young midfielder chose to start his Arsenal career at the Gunner’s Hale End academy which is closest to his home in St Albans.
The youngster is said to have huge prospects for the future just as Jack Wilshere, who was also signed from Luton at age 9. But will he make the grade and advance into the Gunners senior team in the near future just as Wilshere did?
