Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Jonathan Calleri appears to have confirmed on twitter that he will be leaving Boca Juniors in the transfer window. Calleri, 22, has emerged as a target for a number of major teams in Europe, with Chelsea, Inter Milan, Tottenham and Arsenal all credited with an interest in the striker, who has scored ten goals this season.
Argentinian giants Boca Junior are understood to be open to sell the striker, and it looks like a move is closer than ever to being completed after the player tweeted ‘thank you for everything and goodbye’ on Tuesday evening.
Italian side, Inter Milan appear to be the front runner in the race for Calleri’s signature, but Chelsea‘s spending power and a need for a new striker could see them emerge triumphant in the quest to securing the player’s signature.
Chelsea’s Diego Costa is having a tough second season in England due to disciplinary problems, injury problems, short f confidence in front of goal and recently; the Spaniard had an alleged fall out with Jose Mourinho.
The Blues are definitely looking for another striker with Colombian international; Radamal Falcao and Loic Remy unable to shoulder the scoring burden at Stamford Bridge in the absence of Diego Costa.
