Spezia centre-back Gabriele Corbo is considered one of the brightest young prospects in Italian football today but the teenager is reportedly poised to snub a deal to Arsenal as reports claims he is se to complete a move to Bayern Munich.
German news outlet TZ claim that Bayern Munich have taken the 18-year-old on a ‘secret trial’ since the beginning of March to run the rule over the Italy U18 international.
Impressed with how Corbo acquitted himself during his spell at the club, Bayern are working to finalise a deal to sign the centre-back when the summer transfer window opens in June, with a medical already completed and a five-year deal almost agreed.
With his contract expiring at the end of this season, Bayern are expected to sign Corbo for as little as £250,000, fending off interest from Serie A giants Juventus in the process. Tuttomercatoweb reported earlier this month that Arsenal were also keen on signing the teenager.
Corbo has been an unused sub for Spezia five times this season and is yet to make his senior debut for the Serie B outfit, but has impressed in their youth ranks and Bayern appear to be closing in on the signature of a real star of the future.
