Arsenal target Henry Onyekuru has been granted a UK visa, that will enable him complete his move to the Premier League this summer.
The Nigeria international has attracted interest from a number of English clubs but he needed to secure a work permit from the country’s embassy before he could complete a move to the Premier League.
The striker was in scintillating form for Belgium side KAS Eupens last season and his fine form led to Arsenal making a bid for his services.
In May, reports claimed the Gunners had activated Onyekuru’s £6.8m release clause and are looking to agree personal terms with the player but West Ham followed up with a bid of theirs and are also now hoping to sign the forward.
The player is yet to make a decision on his future but he has been brought closer to doing so after receiving his UK work permit.
Although clubs like Newcastle are also in the running to sign the Nigerian, it is West Ham or Arsenal who are favorites to sign him.
Onyekuru recently claimed he would only join a club that will offer him the chance of playing regularly, while it is West Ham who are in the best position to offer him that, Arsenal have a strong case to be the player’s choice.
Wenger has forged a good reputation working with talented youngsters in the past, helping them become great players and that could help influence the forward’s decision making, causing him to choose us.
I hope he chooses us because he could be a great signing for the future if he continues improving.
