Arsenal have reportedly completed the signing of Jamie Vardy, according to Football Insider.
The team’s failure to challenge Leicester City for the league title this season could be partially attributed to the lack of a world class striker in the Gunner’s squad and Wenger is now set to fix that problem as he is close to signing Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
The Gunners activated Vardy’s release clause on Friday and reportedly scheduled a medical for Sunday afternoon.
The £20m release clause left Leicester powerless in their attempts to keep the forward, hoping the player himself will choose to stay at the King Power stadium.
The 29 year old who is closing in on his 30th birthday knows this could be his only chance to play for a big team and has opted to move to the Emirates in a £47m deal in both transfer fees and wages.
The Gunners where hoping to complete the deal before Vardy travels with the England squad to France on Monday and the club is expected to offer the player a four year deal worth around £120,000 a week.
The imminent arrival of Jamie Vardy will definitely cause excitement amongst the Gooners who are hoping the team end it’s twelve year wait for a league title soon.
