Arsenal have reportedly agreed personal terms with Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder, Granit Xhaka ahead of a potential summer move. But the clubs are yet to reach an agreement over a transfer fee as both clubs are €2m apart in the player’s valuation which reports claim will be sorted very soon.
Arsenal have been linked with Xhaka since the winter transfer window and the Gunners have moved ever closer to signing the midfielder as the club’s transfer chief has drawn up a financial package for the midfielder which is expected to be accepted, according to Goal.
However, the Gunners attempts to sign the midfielder isn’t all smooth and rosy as German publication Bild via 101 greatgoals report that both clubs are €2m apart in their valuation. The Gunners have reportedly offered €43m to sign the midfielder, but the German club are holding out for a €45m transfer fee. The difference in both clubs valuation is not expected to put the player’s switch to the Emirates at risk but would give Monchengladbach time to find a replacement as the German club wants to bring in a replacement before announcing Xhaka’s move to Arsenal.
Despite recent developments, Arsenal are expected to sign the midfielder before the start of the European Championships holding next month.
Manchester City recently indicated it’s interest in signing the Swiss international but the player reportedly prefers moving to the Emirates.
Xhaka was one of the Standout performers for Gladbach last season and the Swiss captain will definitely improve the Gunners squad next season.
