Arsenal have welcomed a new youngster into the world of professional football as teenage forward Kaylen Hinds has put pen to paper on a first professional deal according to Arsenal’s official website.
The Islington-born youngster came through the ranks of the Arsenal’s Hale End Academy and is also an England Youth International. He was a good hinge in the under-19 side that made it into the last 16 of the UEFA Youth League with three goals in three outings in the competition. He has also represented the club at under-18 and under-21 level during 2014/15.
Hinds joins a host of other academy stars who have made the step up from amateur to professional over the past few months, a list which includes Chiori Johnson, Tyrell Robinson, Jack Jebb, Kristopher Da Graca and Stefan O’Connor, who has already made his first team debut this season in the Champions League win over Galatasaray.
The club surely does place substantial value on youth development and that has produced good results this season already, with the rise of Hector Bellerin being a shining example. The fight shown to keep Chiba Akpom also proves the long-term plans being laid by the club with the faith put in the youths.
Hopeful, the former Leyton Orient striker will get his chances with the first team in a few seasons to start showing all those good ratings we have been told to expect from him.
