Arsenal will offload Wellington Silva to Bordeaux this week, the Ligue 1 club’s manager Jocelyn Gourvennec has claimed.
Arsenal offloaded Wellington Silva to Brazilian side Fluminense last summer but included a buy-back clause in his contract.
The Gunners triggered the £3million clause this month, opting to sell the 24-year-old on for a profit to Bordeaux.
The French side are reportedly paying £4.3m for the Brazilian winger and had an agreement in place with Arsenal last week.
And Bordeaux manager Jocelyn Gourvennec has claimed the deal is close to being finalised and should be tied up this week.
“Wellington Silva is expected to arrive this weekend and sign with us early next week after his medical visit,” Gourvennec said.
“It took a bit of time, but he should be with us.
“After that we will still have some work to do but I will not detail this now.”
Bordeaux have snapped up the Brazil Under-21 international to replace Adam Ounas who joined Napoli earlier this summer.
Silva is yet to play in France but had numerous spells in Spain on loan with Levante, Alcoyano, Ponferradina, Murcia and Almeria.
His last taste of football in Europe came at Bolton where he spent the 2015/16 season in the Championship.
He never made a senior appearance for the Gunners as issues involving a work permit delayed his progression to the first team.
Last term he made seven appearances for Fluminense, scoring on goal and providing on assist in all competitions.
