Arsenal are on the verge of signing Nigeria U-17 World Cup star Samuel Chukwueze, according to reports.
The Gunners have been linked with a move to sign the U-17 starlet and the club is now close to finalising the transfer of the player.
The player is already in London as he was expected to arrive in the capital on Monday night. The player confirmed his trip to Press men in his homeland, he said to AfricanFootball.com:
“My trip to London is on Monday night.” “I’m happy that everything is going well and I will do my best when I get there by the grace of God.”
However, according to Complete Sports Nigeria via the Metro, has now revealed the player had a medical at Arsenal on Tuesday.
According to the same report, the player won’t feature for the Gunners until he officially turns 18 as FIFA rule prohibits the signing of players below 18 years of age.
Chukwueze will join Nwakali Kelechi who completed a move to Arsenal before the end of last month’s winter transfer window.
Chukwueze will sign a four year deal with the Gunners when he turns 18 and a compensation fee will be paid to his current club Diamond Football academy in Nigeria.
The player was a star performer in the last U-17 World Cup that was held in Chile and he scored three goals to help his country lift the title.
