Monaco have beaten Arsenal to the signing of Lille fullback Djibril Sidibe, according to reports.
Sidibe has signed with Monaco despite a reported late push from Arsenal for the full-back.
The pacy full-back signed a five-year deal with Monaco after completing a move from Lille on Friday.
Earlier in the day, L’Equipe reported that Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger had attempted to hijack Monaco’s move for Sidibe with a €15 million counter-offer.
But Sidibe has handed a blow to Arsene Wenger in making the switch to Monaco over the Emirates.
“It’s a great honour for me to have signed for Monaco,” he told the club’s official website.
“Monaco are a club with a huge history in Ligue 1 and I am very satisfied to be here.”
