Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Liverpool are close to signing former AC Milan striker Alexandre Pato, according to reports.
According to Don Balon, Liverpool are on the verge of signing the Brazilian striker as they are in advanced talks with Corinthians.
The striker suffered injuries in his time at Milan and decided to move back home. Since moving to Brazil, the striker has found a new life, he has scored 26 goals this season and is reportedly interested in moving back to Europe.
Tottenham and Arsenal are said to be interested in the 26 year old but Liverpool are ahead of their rivals in the race to sign the striker.
It was confirmed by Corinthians sporting director that Arsene Wenger asked about Pato but Don Balon claims Liverpool are close to signing the player with just little details to iron out.
The news will come as a blow to Arsene Wenger who is interested in signing a quality striker to provide competition for Olivier Giroud. The striker confirmed earlier in the season that Manchester United failed with a deadline day bid to sign him.
The striker is currently on loan at Sao Paulo and may complete a move to Europe when the winter transfer window opens next month.
