The summer transfer window is still a few weeks away from been officially open. However, this has not stopped clubs and players alike from wrapping up deals ahead of time.
Arsenal have been dealt a massive transfer blow with reports that summer midfield target Ilkay Gundogan has agreed a deal with rival club Manchester United and the transfer of the midfielder will be announced this weekend.
Arsenal where plotting a summer transfer shocker with reports of talks been held with the family of Gundogan, after it was said that the Red Devils where somewhat reluctant in pushing through the deal for the central midfielder due to his poor injury record.
The 24-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder, who has already made clear his intentions to exit the Westfalenstadion at the end of the season, had apparently agreed terms with the Red Devils and his signing will be announced this weekend.
This report will come as bad news to Arsenal who have interest in landing the midfield pass-master this summer.
Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke has already revealed that Gundogan will not be at the club next season.
“Gundogan will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer, that is a fact. I am very confident we will see various clubs coming in for him,” he said.
“It has not been our intention to see him leaving. It was his ambition to move clubs. Therefore we agreed. We will sell him.”
