Pedro Rodriguez has agreed to a shock deal with Chelsea, after snubbing Manchester United at the last minute.
The Barcelona winger had looked destined for a move to Manchester United before Chelsea hijacked the deal at the last minute.
Manchester United where initially in for the winger, but were delaying on meeting his £22million release clause.
United chief executive Ed Woodward flew to Barcelona on Monday to conclude negotiations for him, but wanted the deal to include add-ons.
But according to Spanish newspaper Marca, Chelsea offered more cash up front and sealed the deal, automatically ending United’s interest in Pedro.
The winger had been linked to Arsenal this summer, with their need for an extra attacker seemingly obvious.
Manchester City are also credited with an interest in the winger after it was reported that they had met his release clause.
The Spanish international becomes Chelsea’s second signing in a week, after Baba Rahman moved to Stamford Bridge.
