Arsenal have named their price for Wojciech Szczesny after reportedly rejecting a £4m bid from Juventus.
Reports first emerged a fortnight ago that Juventus are looking to sign Szczesny and that the Italian giants have received encouragement from the goalkeeper’s camp.
According to The Sun, Juventus stepped up their interest by tabling a bid worth around £4m for Szczesny but it was swiftly rejected by Arsenal
The Gunners have now placed a £20m price tag on the goalkeeper and will be reluctant to listen to offers less than its valuation.
Arsenal had reportedly demanded around £13m for Szczesny but Everton’s £30m signing of Jordan Pickford has caused the Gunners to rethink their valuation.
It is believed Wenger wants Szczesny to compete with Petr Cech next season but the player has other plans and has set his sight on a move to Turin.
The goalkeeper who spent the last two years on loan at Roma where he impressed has just one year left in his contract and Arsenal’s valuation appears to be a problem for suitors considering he will be available for free next year if he doesn’t sign a new deal.
The Pole may now have to force the move after stating on numerous occasions that he doesn’t want to return to Arsenal unless he is guaranteed a spot in the starting xi.
I think Arsenal will be forced to reduce its demands because we can’t risk keeping him against his wish and them lose him for nothing next year.
