EPL Side Beat Arsenal To Sign Striker Ahead Of League Opener
Crystal Palace have signed Belgian striker Jason Eyenga-Lokilo from Anderlecht academy despite interest from Arsenal, according to the Daily Mail.
The 16 year old who rose up the ranks at Anderlecht had nearly joined the Gunners where he was reported to have had a trial in 2014, with the Gunners still keeping close track of him ever since.
But fresh reports claim Crystal Palace has signed him, despite interests from Liverpool, Aston Villa and Manchester City.
The youngster confirmed the deal on his twitter account saying; “Proud and very happy to have signed my first pro contract with Crystal Palace! — Jason Lokilo (@JasonLokilo_10) July 29, 2015” and posted pictures of himself signing a deal.
The Gunners however will not be bothered because they possess an array of strikers themselves, with Chuba Akpom even going out on loan to gain further experience and the talks of a deal for Karim Benzema means Arsenal will not be short in that department.
The Striker will join up with the Under-18 setup at Selhurst Park.
