Dortmund boss Peter Stoger has hinted he’s happy for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to join Arsenal and says he wants ‘clarity’ on the situation as soon as possible.

Arsenal have been locked in talks with the Bundesliga giants since last weekend but are yet to agree on a fee for the Gabon international.

The Gunners are willing to offer out-of-favour forward Olivier Giroud in part exchange for Aubameyang but they have – thus far – been unwilling to meet Dortmund’s £60m asking price.

However, Stoger has given Arsenal hope of completing the deal in the next week by revealing he wants the matter sorted in the coming days.

‘I can only say that we’d like to have a solution at some point,’ said Stoger. ‘No matter how this solution will look like.

I guess many will agree with this. Whatever brings clarity would help the team.’ Reports in Germany on Tuesday night claimed the Gunners had raised their bid for Aubameyang to close to £51m.

The Gunners’ first bid of around £44m was instantly turned down and Dortmund are expected to deliver a decision Arsenal’s second bid in the next 24 hours.
