Arsenal are set to miss out on key summer transfer target Paulo Dybala.
This report is according to the Mirror, who claims that sources close to Dybala say that he doesn’t want to leave Italy and will remain in the Serie A.
Dybala has been courted by some of Europe’s elite clubs with Manchester City and Juventus credited with a keen interest for the Argentine forward.
Arsenal and Serie A Champions Juventus have been tagged by many as the clubs currently leading the race for Dybala’s signature. But the report also say that Inter Milan have joined in the race for the striker, and are ready to take the “slightest chance” given to sign the player.
Inter Milan sporting director Javier Zanetti revealed his club’s intention in signing Dybala, insisting that he is not surprised by the 21-year-old’s abilities as he has closely monitored his progress all along.
“Good players always fit in at good teams. If we have even the slightest chance to sign him, we will go for it,” Zanetti said.
“But we have to be realistic. We must respect the FFP rules.
“I am not surprised by his superb performances. I saw him play in Argentina before and his ability already stood out then. He has been performing very consistently this season and he has a bright future ahead of him.”
A £30 million price tag has been quoted as a fee that would prize Dybala away from Palermo.
Given his abilities and confidence in front of goal, Dybala has been likened to fellow countryman Sergio Aguero.
