Arsenal’s imminent recruitment in the January window is set to kick-off early as reports suggest Croatian midfielder would be in London by November for transfer talks.
Marcelo Brozovic ‘s agent, Miroslav Bicanic, revealed that his client would be available for negotiations with a number of clubs, including the Gunners.
The highly-rated youngster has been one of the bright emerging talents from Croatia, having made his professional League debut at just 17 with Hrvatski Dragovoljac in 2010. After a year, Lokomotiva captured him in 2012, where he scored four goals in 27 League appearances.
This succession of good performances didn’t take long to attract the attention of the high and mighty. Within another year, Brozovic was pulling the famous jersey of ‘The Blues’ from where he has established himself as a regularly impressive performer in the team.
His exploits were too promising to ignore for Croatia World Cup coach, Niko Kovac who called him up to the squad for Brasil where he featured in the final 20 minutes of the opener against the hosts. Croatia may have exited that tournament in unceremonious fashion despite being one of the bookies favourites to advance, but the experience of playing in the World Cup would surely have helped improve the youngster’s game.
Principally seen as an attacking midfielder, Brozovic displays a collection of skills which makes him adaptable to every position in the midfield, no less the defensive midfield role so craved for by Arsenal. He features for Zagreb in a more advanced midfield role, but is solid enough to play a role just ahead of the back four.
Wenger has been on the lookout for bright young talents, and though it’s been more of an English revolution, he remains keen to insure the club’s future with a right mix of good potential foreign nationals.
