The Three Lions face their second European Qualifier of the campaign in a bid to reach the France finals in 2016, and tonight they come up against San Marino.
San Marino, the landlocked enclave in the north east of Italy has a population of just 32,000 and are rock-bottom in the FIFA rankings, so anything short of a huge win for Roy Hodgson’s men would be considered disappointing as San Marino have lost every one of their last 64 qualifying matches since a 1-1 draw at Latvia in 2001. And since that game they’ve conceded 295 goals in qualifying matches.
San Marino are ranked 208th in the world and so it’s hard to draw on the positives against opposition like this
But, facing footballing minnows offers England the chance to mix things up and experiment with new partnerships and formations.
Below is England starting XI against San Marino according to Standard, with Arsenal dominating the Three Lions squad.
