Arsenal are set for a busy summer ahead of the 2017/2018 season as Wenger draws up a shortlist of five targets.

The French man lead the Gunners to finish outside the top four for the first time in 16 years and he is keen on carrying out a major surgery on his playing staff to avoid a repeat next term.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal chiefs in a meeting with Wenger have already identified five key positions that needs to be strengthened this summer.

The club chiefs have reportedly resolved to sign a new goalkeeper, a left-back, a striker, a centre back an a winger.

Alexandre Lacazette is believed to be the club’s priority to come in and provide competition for Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck next term but we could be forced to look at alternative targets, with the French man said to be keen on a move to Atletico.

A winger is also a priority considering the uncertainty surrounding Alexis Sanchez future and with the Chilean looking likely to leave the Emirates, a big name winger is being mooted.

At Centre back, Wenger is keen on a replacement for Per Mertesacker who hasn’t featured this season while either Kieran Gibbs or Nacho Monreal could be sold to make way for a new left-back, who happens to be Sead Kolasinac.

In goal, the club is reportedly eyeing replacements for David Ospina despite Wenger ruling out the possibility of signing a new goalkeeper a few days ago.

We are unsure of how much this rebuilding process will cost Arsenal but it is likely to take up a huge chunk of our finances.

In the modern day transfer market, five quality players will likely take the club’s spending over the £100m mark which will make it the second successive season we are spending big, having parted with almost a £100m last summer.
