Wenger plans to keep Chelsea’s Hazard quiet when the two side meet on Sunday.
Arsenal manager – Arsene Wenger, while speaking to the club’s official website ahead of Sunday’s clash at the Emirates Stadium against League leaders Chelsea revealed that Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez will give Chelsea star Eden Hazard a serious fight for the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award this season.
Wenger insisted that Alexis has done a lot for the club in his first season and that may well play a huge part on the Chilean international claiming the award ahead of the Belgian star.
“Alexis had a big impact and let’s not forget that for Hazard it is not the first season but for Alexis it is,” the manager explained.
“He will give him a fight and if Alexis doesn’t make it this year, he will give him a fight as well for next season.
Wenger also acknowledged that he will be the biggest treat when the two sides meet, but insisted that the Gunners will do everything to keep the Chelsea man quiet.
“I think everybody would agree that Hazard has had a great season and one of the aspects of Sunday’s game will be to keep him quiet.
“He has found maturity that he did not have before. I believe his final ball is better, his personality on the pitch is stronger, the finishing aspect of his game is much better than before. He can turn games when it’s 0-0 and when it’s tight. That’s always a sign of top quality.”
