Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has given an update for injured Santi Cazorla.
The French boss revealed he expects his midfielder back in the squad after Christmas.
The 32-year-old defender been ruled out since last October last year when we played Ludogorets in the Champions League.
Fears had been raised over the long-term fitness of the Spaniard after he was left out of the Europa League and Premier League squads.
However, despite undergoing eight operations in that time, his boss revealed that he hopes to welcome the player back into the fold in 2018.
“The flexibility of his ankle looks good, his mobility is good and now it’s about getting back to full fitness without having any setbacks,” Wenger said in his pre-match press conference.
“It’s very difficult to predict when he will be available again. I think it’s very difficult to set a time. Not before Christmas, that’s why I didn’t involve him in the Europa League, but overall I hope that after Christmas he will be available.
