Arsenal are on the verge of signing Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan, according to reports.
The midfielder who has been impressive for Thomas Tuchel’s men this summer have less than two years left in his contract and is reportedly undecided if he should remain at the Signal Iduna Park or not.
With Wenger prepared to allow Tomas Rosicky leave this summer, Mkhitaryan is seen as an ideal replacement for the Czech Veteran.
Rosicky joined Arsenal from BVB in 2006 and Wenger is prepared to tempt Mkhitaryan to follow the same path. However, there is resistance from Chelsea and Juventus as both clubs are keen on the midfielder as well.
According to Italian publiction Tuttomercatoweb via the Daily Star Arsenal are leading the race to sign the Armenian international.
The report also added that the Gunners will be made to pay £23m for the midfielder’s services and will offer the player a salary package worth £96,000 a week.
