Arsenal’s desperate search for a striker has led them to Russia, this time they are reportedly close to sealing a deal for Dinamo Moscow’s Russian striker Alexander Kokorin.
The 24 year old Russian striker who has played his whole career in the Russian premier league had been linked to a host of premier league and Champions league clubs, with Manchester United, Tottenham, PSG and Zenith interested in signing the striker this summer.
Arsenal have now moved ahead of the pack, with a deal for the former best left striker in the Russian League seeming close to completion.
Arsenal have been in search of a striker all summer, with Karim Benzema their top target, but with the Real Madrid striker refuting reports that a deal is on for him, Wenger has now decided to come a bit lower in his search of quality.
The Russian international made his debut for Dinamo Moscow in 2008 and has gone on to score 39 goals in 166 appearances for the club. Though it’s worth noting that since his breakthrough season in 2013, he has scored 20 goals in 52 games for the Russian club.
He also boasts an impressive 8 goals in 32 caps for Russia national team, so he would be coming with experience.
