Arsenal jet out to Germany to take on one of Bundesliga’s giant Frankfurt in the first game of the Europa League group stage.
Despite the tight upcoming fixtures, Unai Emery and his men will be desperate to open their 2019/20 European account on a positive note away from home.
Arsenal are definitely a team to watch this year, and if you are a fan of European football, you can place your sports bets using services like Betolimp, as the Gunners are certainly favourites to win the trophy this year, after making it all the way to the final in the previous campaign. But where eliminated by fellow London rivals Chelsea.
After the match against Frankfurt in Germany, Arsenal will travel back to London for games against Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest on Sunday and Tuesday respectively. And so there is no way Emery will use the same starting xi for all four games in just 10 days.
Certainly, a good number of changes will be expected in the starting lineup against Frankfurt, and here is how we expect the boss to make his team selection…
Without a doubt, the patient Arsenal second choice goalie Emiliano Martinez will be given the nod ahead of Bernd Leno on this one.
This is where we expect the most changes to the team, with the return to fitness of Rob Holding and other defenders. Emery will certainly be looking to rest David Luiz, with Sokratis not even making the traveling party to Germany.
Arsenal’s defending can certainly be a bit of a lottery. If you like the thrill of random chance, try Betolimp South Africa. It would be nice if the Gunners could avoid gambling on the pitch though. To allow so many shots on goal is a sign of just how poorly the team are set up defensively.
Granit Xhaka is nursing an Achilles injury and so every given chance Emery gets to rest him will be taken. Lucas Torreira has had the least time on the pitch so far this season and looks a sure starter against Frankfurt.
As much as Emery will be desperate to rotate players upfront, Aubameyang and Pepe looks a sure bet to make the starting XI against Frankfurt, with Reiss Nelson another likely candidate upfront given Mesut Ozil was left behind in London for the trip to Germany.
Full Predicted lineup (4-2-3-1)
Martinez; Kolasinac, Holding, Chambers, Mustafi; Guendouzi, Torreira; Ceballos, Pepe, Nelson; Aubameyang.
