As the Kevin De Bruyne saga continues and his imminent move to Manchester City draws nearer to completion, The Wolves have been linked with Schalke star Julian Draxler.
Draxler has previously been linked with Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea as well as heavy speculation linking him with Italian giants Juventus and Arsenal.
The reported interest comes after Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne seems to be saying his farewell to the Volkswagen Arena faithful after Kicker information suggested the City deal is done.
As a replacement for the Bundesliga assist holder, Dieter Hecking turns his attention to 21-year old Julian Draxler.
Wolfsburg are set to welcome Draxler and his side, Schalke, on Friday as they lift the curtain for Matchday 3 in the Bundesliga.
With the De Bruyne deal exceeding €70 million, Wolfsburg will easily be able to afford the €30 million + bonuses put in place by Schalke, according to Focus.
Juventus were close to signing the flamboyant playmaker earlier in the window, but they failed in their bid to buy the attacker as they couldn’t meet the valuation set by Horst Heldt.
Speaking on the future of the World Cup winner, the Schalke Sporting Director insisted that “a decision will be made following Friday’s game.”
