Chelsea are confident of signing Arsenal target Romelu Lukaku, according to reports.
The Everton defender was linked with a move to the Emirates earlier in the summer but it appears Wenger dropped his interest in the striker after Everton named their price for the 23 year old.
It is believed the Merseyside club are demanding a £75m fee and wouldn’t bulge into selling the striker for less than that fee.
However, that hasn’t deterred London rivals Chelsea as they are prepared to break the British transfer record to sign the striker.
The West London club have already had bids of £50m and £57m rejected for the striker and are preparing an improved bid worth £68m.
According to The Ibtimes, Chelsea are confident of signing the striker this summer.
It is claimed the striker is open to the idea of leaving the Goodison park and has set his sight on a return to Chelsea where he believes he has unfinished business.
Wenger recently stated the prices being quoted in the transfer market are scary and it appears the club have dropped it’s interest in Lukaku as a result of his price tag.
Wenger has now turned his attention to Olympic Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette and Inter Milan’s Mauro Icardi. The Duo are expected to cost less than Lukaku.
