The Galatasary vs Arsenal clash away at Instanbul Tuesday night would mark the last of the Gunners 2014/2015 Champions League group stage match, with Arsene Wenger and his men already securing safe passage to the next round (a successive 15th passage of Arsenal into the next round of the competition in recent years), although falling in second place with 10 points just below Borussia Dortmund with 12 points.
“A game where there’s not a lot at stake”
Those are the words with which Arsene Wenger has chosen to describe our last Champions League group game for this season and as casual and dismissive as that might sound, that is exactly what our trip to Galatasaray is.
With Hamza Hamzaoglu’s men already condemned to defeat in the group stage of the Champions League as well as the being hopeless of making the Europa League, many Arsenal lovers will be expecting to see a handful of changes to Wenger’s starting line-up for the match on Tuesday night with fringe players like Joel Campbell, Lukas Podolski, Yaya Sanogo and Tomas Rosicky topping the chart of players likely to be picked for the starting XI against Galatasaray.
Injuries have played a huge part in our season so far, and with all the goods secured, Wenger will gladly play a shuffled pack, preserving his dearest aces for more demanding conquests still ahead. The manager had warned that the conditions of some players would have to be managed so as to avoid burnout, the obvious stand out being Alexis Sanchez.
Despite injuries and the expected reshuffling of the team, here is a predicted Arsenal starting line-up to face Galatasaray tomorrow night.
