Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.
Arsenal are reported tracking Deportivo LA Coruna forward Lucas Perez. The Gunners are looking to add further strength to their striking line in a bid to help their push for a first Premier League title since 2004.
According to Marc Williams of the Daily Star , the Gunners have scouted the 27 year old on several occasions this season and Wenger has personally sanctioned a deal to sign him in January. The Deportivo marksman has netted 10 goals in 14 appearances for the Spanish outfit and would be a valuable addition to the Gunners ranks.
Perez can play as the main striker or as a No10 and on the right flank, he is a proven scorer and commands a devastating pace on the counter attack. With Arsenal facing lots of injuries to key players, Perez could be an ideal solution to Oxlade-Chamberlain, Danny Welbeck, Santi Carzola as well as Alexis Sanchez.
The 27 year old just signed a permanent deal with Deportivo La Corona in August on a four year deal and it would be hard for the club to let him leave except if a high bid is placed for his exceptional services. The Gunners need an additional striker to assist Giroud with the goal scoring burden as Arsenal are still involved in the FA Cup, UEFA Champions League and the Premier League.
The prospect of Perez playing in the Champions League may be too tempting for him to resist, so the Gunners retain a realistic chance of signing him on in the January transfer window.
