Arsenal have been handed a major January transfer boost after key summer target hits out at club’s President.
The Gunners seems to have given the much needed boost to try to steal Lyon star striker Alexandre Lacazette, after the French international says he has been hurt by Prsident Jean-Michel Aulas’ actions during the close-season.
Lacazette raked in an impressive 31 goals in all competition last season as Lyon returned to the Champions League and was eventually rewarded with a one-year contract extension through to 2019.
However, the saga over his new deal rumbled on prior to the start of the new season, with Aulas revealing Lacazette would earn “at least €4million a year” in June.
The 24-year-old striker, who was the highest goal scorer in the Ligue 1 last season, hit out on the Lyon President’s actions saying.
“It hurts. I think that’s the right word. When you are a young guy at the club, from the city, who’s never behaved badly towards anyone, to be treated like that…yes it’s hurtful.”
Arsenal had been heavily linked with a move for Lacazette in the summer transfer window, and they would once again be encouraged to step up their interest for the prolific goal scorer in the winter transfer window.
