Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs will not be leaving the club this summer, according to Sport Review.
The defender’s future has been subject of speculation in recent weeks with the 26 year old being linked with a move to Liverpool.
The defender was said to have been tired with his situation at the Emirates and told Wenger he would be open to a move away from the club in search of regular football. It was even reported that Wenger would sanction the sale of the defender should he sign a suitable replacement for the 26 year old.
However, Sport Review now claims Gibbs will not be sold this summer but also claimed Wenger is looking to offload some of his defenders.
The report sites Italian Journalist Emanuele Giulianelli as it source claiming a move to Liverpool will not happen.
Giulianelli said: “Deal cooled down. But Arsenal want to sell in that part of the pitch.”
Gibbs started only three league games for the Gunners last season and made additional twelve appearances from the bench missing out of Roy Hodgson’s England squad in the process.
The defender is keen to get is international career back on track by playing regular football but it seems his only option is to work hard and win back his place in Wenger’s starting xi.
