Arsenal legend Thierry Henry isn’t expected to jump into a new coaching job.
The London Evening Standard says Henry is unlikely to be joining West Ham’s coaching staff following his departure from Arsenal.
The record Gunners scorer had been linked with a move across London after he left his part-time post as assistant coach of Arsenal’s Under-18 squad. Watford, whose training ground is adjacent to his former club’s headquarters at London Colney, had also been suggested as a possible destination but it is understood that he also will not be joining the Hornets.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger had given Henry, who is working for his Pro Licence coaching badge, the job but with the proviso that he stepped down from his role as a Sky Sports pundit.
The former France striker, who is believed to earn in the region of £4million a year at Sky, would not do so and Wenger was concerned at a potential conflict of interest caused by Henry having to criticise Arsenal players on TV.
