Arsenal have been given the go ahead to sign long time target Karim Benzema from Real Madrid this summer.
Reports according to the Daily Star, claims Arsenal can now move to sign the French striker at the end of the season with the Spanish giants ready to sell.
The report says that Madrid are willing to let the striker go with the intent on triggering a £21.6 million buy-back clause for Juventus’ Alvaro Morata and will use the sale of Benzema to fund the deal.
It is no secret that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a keen admirer of Benzema – right from his days at Lyon, with the Gunner’s boss reportedly failing on several occasions to land the 6 ft 2 in tall striker.
Wenger is looking to add more fire power to his frontline next season and news of Benzema’s availability in the summer is sure to spring the boss to action in the coming weeks for his signature.
Benzema currently earns £150,000-a-week and would reportedly cost the Gunners £25 million to acquire his services.
The 27-year-old striker who has scored 22 goals in 45 appearances for Madrid this season is also a target for Manchester United.
