Arsenal target Shkodran Mustafi is keen on a move to Arsenal, according to reports.
Arsene Wenger recently stated he is interested in signing an experienced centre back after losing Per Mertesacker to injury. The Gunners would also be without Gabriel Paulista and Laurent Koscielny for the league opener against Liverpool on August 14 and Wenger is keen on signing a new defender
The Gunners are believed to be interested in Mustafi and have opened talks as regards signing him.
The defender has a release clause of £42m but Arsenal are expected to sign him for less than that amount.
According to the Daily Mirror, Mustafi is interested in working with Arsene Wenger and could complete a move to the Emirates for around £25m.
Valencia are interested in selling the defender for around that price as they need to balance their financial account.
Mustafi was a key member of the German squad and the defender helped Joachim Low’s troops to the Semi Final stage, scoring the team’s first goal in the process.
Should the defender complete a move to the Emirates, he would join the club’s German contigent already boasting the likes of Per Mertesacker, Serge Gnabry and Mesut Ozil.
