Arsenal are interested in signing former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez and are considering tabling a bid for him in January, according to reports.
According to the Metro via Don Balon, Arsenal are prepared to make an official bid for the striker in January.
The striker left England for Bayer Leverkusen last summer after he was told by Manchester United Manager Louis Van Gaal that he has just 1% chance of playing for the Old Trafford club.
The striker has been in superb form since completing his move to Germany and he has already scored 18 goals for the German side.
The Gunners are currently in search of a Centre forward who will provide adequate competition and cover for Olivier Giroud and Wenger is keen on signing the former Old Trafford fans favourite and has made him his priority signing, as per the Metro.
Should Arsenal sign Hernandez, they will be getting a proven premier league player and this could just galvanize the North London team as they hope to win their first premier league trophy since 2005.
Hernandez joined Manchester United in 2010 and proved to be a good signing for the Red Devils until the departure of Sir Alex Fegurson. Hernandez spent last season on loan at Real Madrid where he scored 7 league goals in 23 appearances.
