The Gunners have been scouting Turkey international and Besiktas midfielder Oguzhan Ozyakup and reports have indicated that the Gunners are preparing a stunning transfer swoop for the star.

Ozyakup ascended through the grades of the famous Arsenal academy but was not good enough for Arsene Wenger to permanently nick a place in the first team of the squad. His cameos for the senior side of Arsenal came in the EFL Cup when he made two substitute appearances in the 2011/2012 season before his sale.

The 25-year-old appear to have improved upon his game starring for Turkish outfit Benfica – the playmaker has led his side to winning two Super Lig titles and he’s currently the captain of his side. Little wonders the Gunners had their scouts watching the star last month.

According to Fotomac, Arsenal will offer £10million for the player, who is also in the final year of his current contract with his club.

Arsenal are currently uncertain of the future of Turkish born Germany international Mesut Ozil and Ozyakup has been viewed as the ideal replacement for Ozil.

Ozyakup can play behind the striker on any of the flanks and his tricky and skillful nature makes him a perfect fit for the Gunners squad.
