Arsenal fans can’t wait for the transfer window to end as Alexis Sanchez continues to be linked with a move away from the Emirates.
The striker is already into the final year of his contract and apparently doesn’t want to sign a new deal but Wenger is adamant he will not be sold this summer.
The boss is even prepared to lose Sanchez for nothing next summer rather than sell him this summer.
Manchester City are the most keen on the forward and have already had a £45m bid rejected.
However, they aren’t prepared to give up and the Mirror are claiming they will keep trying to sign the forward until the last minute of the transfer window.
The report claims Guardiola is ready to submit a £70m bid to tempt Arsenal into selling Sanchez.
They are hoping Arsenal would change their mind on Sanchez if they receive a huge bid instead of losing him for nothing next year.
The report also suggests PSG are still in the race for the striker but the player’s preferred choice will be to move to the Etihad.
£70m for a player who has less than one year in his contract will be too good to turn down but the problem is we will struggle to replace him after strengthening a rival.
I expect Wenger to turn down City if they come up with such offer. The money in the Premier League means every club is financially stable to keep its best players and Arsenal have no reason whatsoever to sell Sanchez.
