Arsenal are set to go all out to wrap up deals as we gradually approach the most heated period of the summer transfer window.

The Gunners are reportedly keen on Bayer Leverkusen’s “spectacular” midfielder Lars Bender and have sent scouts to watch him in midweek, according to reports.

The Sunday People claim the Gunners will make an £18million bid for the 26-year-old Germany international due to Jack Wilshere’s continued injury problems and doubts over Mathieu Flamini’s future.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is also quoted as saying: “You have to keep your nerve and not buy just because others buy, but because you have found a player who can really give you a plus.”

Both Lars and his twin brother Sven have been targeted by Wenger for years, and it appears the boss see this summer as the best time to swoop on for one of the twin.

” midfielder Lars Bender a world class well known player and for Arsenal to Send scouts to watch him at this late time of the transfer window doesn’t seem to be a nice joke either they make a credible acceptable bid to sign him or Arsene Wenger should stop playing with Arsenal fans nerves m because they had more than enough of that .

I agree with you Bakri. Let us see what Arsene is up to by the end of the Window. Every team in the premier league has strenghtened and ready to last the distance. The journalists are making mockery of Arsenal with junk write ups over Benzema. It would be funny if Man U picks him and many Arsenal fans would lose their nerves. Many Pundits have spoken of the need for Arsenal to add to the front line as well as get a defensive midfielder to support Cog. Arsene is not a kid to react accordingly unless he is told behind closed doors not to spend the money and so, boils down to money politics. This is one story only Arsene Wenger would tell if he retires.
