Petr Cech is receiving plaudits for his influence in the Gunner’s team due to the series of superb performances he has showcased on the pitch since moving to the Emirates last summer.
The goal keeper joined the Gunners in a £10m deal and immediately stamped his authority in the Gunner’s squad.
Gunner’s midfielder Aaron Ramsey has hailed the Czech Republic international, saying he has a lot of quality for a goalkeeper despite his age.
Ramsey told Complex via Squawka: “It’s all about his experience and he still has a lot of quality. He’s made some crucial saves at crucial times in some crucial games. He’s been there and done it, won most things in football – it’s good to have him between the sticks.”
Cech has kept 12 clean sheets for the Gunners this season making him one of the highest in the league. The 33 year old presence in the Gunner’s back line has brought a sense of security to the defense with Hector Belerin also hailing the goalkeeper’s influence in the squad.
‘It is very important to have a a solid goalkeeper and Petr Cech is one of the best.’
‘I think he has given us that confidence at the back.
‘It helps that this is a solid team defensively (that) has played a lot of teams together, and that you have probably the best goalkeeper in the league playing for you.
‘Not long ago he broke the record of clean sheets so you can see that when you look back that the goal is covered by a great player and that is very important for us.’
