A report from Sky Sport claims Arsenal have draw down a list of two manager who will be interviewed for the position of the manager of Arsenal ahead of next season.

Arsenal are still on the lookout for a new manager over three weeks after Arsene Wenger announced he would leave at the end of the season.

Former Gunners captain Mikel Arteta is the bookies’ favourite for the job despite having no previous managerial experience.

Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri has seen his odds drift in the last 24 hours after he announced he would be staying with the Serie A side.

Sky Sports reporter Aidan Magee claims former Gunner midfielder Arteta and Hoffenheim boss Julian Nagelsmann are the two preferred choices for Arsenal at the moment.

And he says they want to make an announcement on Wenger’s replacement before the World Cup starts next month.

“As things stand, Sky sources are telling us that the two leading candidates at the moment for that Arsenal job are Mikel Arteta, their former player and currently at Manchester City, and Julian Nagelsmann,” Magee said.

“This is after Massimiliano Allegri said he would be staying at Juventus unless he got the sack.

“As things stand we understand Arsenal have not made an official approach to either of their former players Patrick Vieira or Thierry Henry.

“Luis Enrique meanwhile is interested in the job but his wage demands are currently putting Arsenal off.

“The interview process is expected to start this week.

“They want someone in place before the World Cup starts on June 14.”
