Barcelona are not giving up on their pursuit of Hector Bellerin despite Arsenal’s reluctance to sell.
The Catalan giants have been making moves to sign the defender since last summer but their efforts have so far been frustrated by Arsenal.
It was because of Barcelona’s interest that Arsenal tied the defender down to a new six-and-a-half year deal in November but that seem not to have deterred them.
Reports in Spain are claiming Barcelona will tempt Arsenal’s resolve to keep Bellerin before the current transfer window ends and it is suggested that they are putting together a proposal which would be difficult for us to turn down.
According to The Sun, Barca are planning to offer Arsenal a player plus cash deal to sign Bellerin.
The player the Catalan giants are prepared to part with is Brazil playmaker, Rafinha – who has been linked with a move to Arsenal in the past.
The report claims Barcelona value Rafinha at £25m and the Spaniard’s are prepared to offer £20m plus the player to tempt Arsenal into selling Bellerin.
Barcelona’s offer is unlikely to tempt Wenger into selling as the boss’ determination to keep Bellerin has been strengthened by Chamberlain’s likely departure.
Arsenal would not want to lose its two right wing backs before the start of next season, knowing how difficult it will be to replace them. Barcelona would be better off turning their attention elsewhere so as not to spend the entire summer trying to get a player they have no chance of signing.
