Arsenal fans will once again have renewed hopes in the club’s big to sign sensational winger Thomas Lemar with latest comments from manager Arsene Wenger.
The Arsenal pre-season tour entourage landed in Sydney, Australia, in the early hours of Tuesday and the boss faced the media ahead of the Gunners clash against Sydney FC on Thursday.
Although, Wenger acknowledge Arsenal’s interest in Lemar, but as expected of the boss, he denied concrete moves for the Monaco star.
“That’s all speculation at the moment, there is nothing really concrete about any signing.
He’s a player that we have looked at, but the rest is only speculation.”
Unlike most managers, Wenger is widely known for keeping his transfer business away from the prying eyes of the media, and so a simple acknowledgement – “He’s a player that we have looked at” – from the boss of his interest in Lemar goes a long way to suggest the boss really does has something under his sleeves as regards bringing the winger to the Emirates this summer.
With all the news of a first bid being rejected by Monaco for Lemar, and Arsenal returning with an improved bid for the winger – which has impressed the youngster so much that reports claim he has agreed personal terms with the Gunners, one would strongly believe Lemar could well be Wenger’s 3rd signing of the summer.
And what a signing that would be!
