Arsenal target Mario Lemina has confirmed Arsenal’s interest in him and says he is flattered by reports linking him with a move to the Emirates.
Last month, ESPN claimed Wenger’s top target to strengthen our midfield this summer was Lemina but that has changed in recent weeks with Nice’s Jean Micheal Seri and Malaga’s Pablo Fornas said to be above the Juventus man on our wish list.
However, the 23 year is happy to be attracting the interest of big clubs like Arsenal.
“I am flattered by the interest of Arsenal and Watford. I am playing for a big club now but I am happy about the interest of other clubs,” he told French outlet, Foot Mercato [via Evening Standard ].
“I do not have a preference for any league. My future depends on who really wants me.”
Lemina has had to settle for a bit part role at Juve this term, having struggled to break into the starting xi.
It appears he isn’t in the Old Lady’s future plans, hence a move to the Emirates is feasible.
The question now is if Lemina will improve our squad in any way. While he has huge potential to become one of the very best in the future, I don’t think he has developed enough to make an impact in our team next season.
If he is a signing for the future, there wouldn’t be much problem.
Gooners, should Wenger go all out to sign Lemina or should the boss go for another better target this summer?
