Arsenal are prepared to overhaul their midfield in the summer transfer window, according to the Mirror.
The Gunners recently confirmed the signing of Mohamed Elneny from Basel for a fee of £7.4m and the signing the Egyptian midfielder could force as much as three Gunner’s stars out of the first team squad next summer.
According to the report, Wenger is also interested in signing Southampton’s defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama next summer. Should the Gunner’s get the man from the Saints, it could force as many as three midfielders away from the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky could all be set to depart the Emirates when their contracts expire at the end of the season.
Flamini who is currently on £80,000 a week is set to leave the Emirates this summer after being on the fringe of first team football this season.
Arteta has also been in and out of the Gunners first team and has been linked with a move to West Ham while Rosicky hasn’t featured well for the Gunners this term.
The arrival of Mohamed Elneny has pushed Arteta and Flamini further down the club’s pecking order and with the Gunners set to move for Wanyama next summer will see them move further down the perking order.
The Gunners are reportedly prepared to improve their squad next summer as Wenger will try to take his squad to the next level.
