Olivier Giroud says he is happy at Arsenal amid reports linking him with an exit. The striker is reportedly attracting interest from Olympique Marseille, who are reportedly prepared to table a huge bid for his services when the summer transfer window opens in July.
Despite signing a new contract in January, reports claim the striker would leave the Emirates if Arsenal brings in another forward.
However, the 30 year old has moved to dismiss those reports, claiming he is very happy at Arsenal and want to continue playing here.
“There is nothing fixed, but I would say that today I feel good at Arsenal,” the France international said
“I have two more years on my contract, we will see what the future will be.”
“The Premier League is an increasingly high-profile and contested championship, where five or six teams can potentially claim the title.” he added
“This is why I still want to continue to want to win this title.”
Giroud has scored 16 goals for Arsenal this season despite playing back up to Alexis Sanchez. He has also scored crucial goals for the team and some Gooners will be keen for him to stay next year after his contribution.
Whether he will be willing to continue in a bit-part role next season is another thing. A striker is expected to come in this summer and that could further limit his chances of playing regularly which would be a crucial factor for him going into a World Cup year.
