Arsenal Calum Chambers is set to return to his old club Southampton in January, according to reports.
The Sun claims Chambers will be heading to the St Mary’s on a six month loan when the winter transfer window opens next month and the Saints boss is willing to extend the loan deal for next season if the initial six month loan proves successful.
Everton are also interested in signing the defender and Koeman is keen on snapping the 20 year old ahead of the Merseyside club but both clubs are aware that Wenger will only let the player leave if Mathieu Debuchy stays at the club, as per the report.
Chambers joined Arsenal in 2014 from Southampton for a fee of £16m but the 20 year old is yet to establish himself at the Emirates.
The defender is versatile and can play as a centre back as well as a right back and defensive midfield. The 20 year old is unhappy at the Emirates due to his inability to get game time despite being able to play in more than one positions, as per the Sun.
Chambers has featured for the Gunners 27 times since swapping the St Mary’s for the Emirates in 2014.
