“I’d Love To Play For Arsenal” – Confirms Proven Premier League Star

Arsene Wenger is reportedly keen on bolstering his side in the January transfer window for the second half of the 2015/2016 season.

For varying reasons, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has made a habit of resigning his former players in the later stages of their careers. In recent seasons, those making a return to Arsenal have included Sol Campbell, Jens Lehmann and of course our legendary Thierry Henry.

Hoping to join that list is ex Arsenal right back Emmanuel Eboue.

The Ivorian made a total of 216 appearances across all competitions netting 10 times during his spell with the Gunners, although he failed to lift a single trophy despite participating in three finals twice in the League Cup in addition to the Champions League defeat to Barcelona in 2006. He however enjoyed a trophy laden spell at Istanbul winning three Super Lig titles and two Turkish cups with Turkish giants Galatasaraay.

The defender who is currently a free agent having been released by Galatasaraay in 2015 is still bitter about how his last season ended before revealing he would love to rejoin the Gunners as he continues his search for a new club, as per ibtimes

“I came back for training and was told I would not be playing,” he told The Sun. “The president told the manager at the time not to pick me. The way I was treated was very unfair. We are looking for options but I’d love to come back to Arsenal.”

The imminent departure of Mathieu Debuchy is set to leave Wenger searching for a replacement, settling for Eboue would however be very uninspiring.
