Arsenal have been dealt a big blow in their attempt to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gunners are reportedly interested in the striker and it is believed that Wenger is prepared to do whatever it takes to sign the in-form Gabonese with the club reportedly preparing a bid worth around £63.4m.
Wenger has now been dealt a major blow as Aubameyang dismissed moving to the Premier League claiming his dream move lies in Spain.
The striker also revealed he is happy at Dortmund and isn’t seeking a move away from the club this summer.
“Dortmund is a football-crazy city,” he told German publication Kicker, as quoted by the Daily Express. “During the past few years we have had the highest attendance average in the whole of Europe.
“It’s a safe city to live in and my family are very settled – they feel right at home.
“I’ve never hidden my dream to one day play for Real Madrid, but I have extended my contract with Borussia Dortmund until 2020 for a reason. I feel very happy here.”
It is believed that Aubameyang is top on Wenger’s wish list this summer ahead of the likes of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Gonzalo Higuain but the French tactician will now be forced to turn to other options.
